Dayton Prime Timers Pig Roast Goes International

The Miami Valley Ohio Prime Timers in Dayton, Ohio, held their 3rd Annual Pig Roast on August 18, 2013, at a local Metro Park with approximately 120 attendees enjoying professionally prepared pulled pork from a whole hog cut up on a table right at the site. The afternoon included games like corn hole, conversation, food like homemade potato salad and cole slaw, tea, lemonade, and other beverages. Although this was our regular meeting date, minutes were dispensed with and fellowship was the word of the day. We were pleased to again have attendees from Prime Time chapters in Columbus, Cincinnati, Louisville KY, Charleston, West Virginia, and a crew from Chicago IL including Worldwide Board Member Mr. Henry McMorris. New additional representatives attended from the Canton OH chapter, Cleveland OH, the Cincinnati OH River Bears, and, making it international, we had a contingent from the Prime Timer chapter in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. What a great bunch of guys with which to socialize on a perfect August afternoon at one of our local green space locations. Everyone expressed their enjoyment of the day and asked about how they could take some of our experience to plan events of their own. Special thanks to our MVOPT Pig Roast coordinator Steve S.

The new Central Iowa chapter (located in Des Moines, Iowa's capitol city) is already a year old, and is going strong. They recently took a boat dinner cruise to celebrate the anniversary.

Don M. (Prime Timers Worldwide VP of Chapters) and Bryan Q. were married in a simple ceremony held at their home.  Don and Bryan were married on their eighth anniversary.  The picture is of their small wedding party of friends. Don and Bryan are the smiling couple wearing identical shirts in the middle of the group.

An Ed Breeding Film

Alexander the Great. Da Vinci. Michelangelo. Oscar Wilde. Tennessee Williams. These are just a few of the great creative artists of the past. But this video isn't about them. It focuses instead on gay men in the great American Southwest.

The theme for Labor Day Weekend 2013, presented by Central Oklahoma Prime Timers is "Who says '13 is unlucky?" The five-day event held at the Southwest's premier gay resort – the Habana Inn in Oklahoma City – begins Thursday August 29, and continues through noon Monday, September 2, 2013.

The Columbus Ohio Prime Timers "Rowdy Roadies" have adopted a highway interchange in Columbus. They made a commitment to clean up trash a minimum of four times per year. Ohio DOT provides trash bags and bright green vests, and removes the filled trash bags. Photo from Columbus Ohio Prime Timers.

Ask Adam, by Adam Roelle, Beer and Spirits Manager at Weiland's Gourmet Market. Weiland's Gourmet Market will offer two food events in the convention Hospitality Suite. At those events, Adam will speak on a variety of topics involving, gourmet foods, mixology, spirits, craft beers, etc. Time TBD.

The Columbus Ohio Primetimers (COPT) have been working for a year to bring you a great convention. It’s only a few weeks away, and looking like the best convention yet. The COPT team has put together a great city, a great hotel, and plenty of outings and workshops to keep you entertained and informed from the moment you arrive, until you reluctantly depart for home. The convention will be held October 3-6 in Columbus, Ohio at the Renaissance Columbus Downtown Hotel.

The Central Oklahoma Prime Timers are looking forward to seeing their friends again this Labor Day Weekend. The five-day event held at the Southwest’s premier gay resort – the Habana Inn in Oklahoma City – begins Thursday August 29, and continues through noon Monday, September 2, 2013.

New this year: Events have been added on Thursday: there will be a continental breakfast, the hospitality room will be open with snacks, soft drinks and water, and we will have a happy hour. Starting this year, we can now accept credit cards for payment.
