The Prime Timers of Phoenix (PTOP) was founded in 1994. As of September 2015, we have 203 active members: 58 couples and 87 single men with membership growing every month. We are an extremely active, member oriented organization. Thanks to the efforts of a dedicated and focused Board of Directors, we offer our members an exciting and varied array of activities and events.

The PTOP meets every 3rd Thursday of the month at the Church of the Beatitudes in Central Phoenix. In addition to official announcements and club business, each meeting focuses on a specific topic or event of particular interest to our membership. These include social get-togethers like our Mix & Mingles; readings by gay authors Bill Koenigsberg, Will Damron, Alan Chin, and Dr. Loren Olson; our annual November Bizarre, featuring the works of our talented member artists, craftsmen, and chefs; a special performance by the LGBT wind symphony Desert Overture; and each December, our popular Holiday Party & Banquet. Prime Timers of Phoenix offers an average of 8-10 dining events each month, as well as mix & mingles at a variety of Phoenix-area bars/lounges. We also have an Opera Club and a recently revitalized Book Club. In December of last year, the PTOP held a very successful Winter Clothing Drive for elementary school students at the Pine Ridge Reservation in Wanblee, SD.

In addition to our monthly meetings, Prime Timers of Phoenix have enjoyed a host of exciting excursions to Arizona's many attractions including the Verde Canyon Wilderness Railroad, Desert Botanical Garden, San Xavier Mission, Sonora Desert Museum, boat trips at Canyon Lake and Saguaro National Park, two cruises to the Mexican Riviera, Tubac historical site and arts village, the Boyce Thompson Arboretum, historic Prescott AZ for the holiday lights, Phoenix's Musical Instrument Museum and Heard Museum, and the Laughlin NV casinos.

On Wednesday, October 14, the PTOP were the proud hosts of the Hospitality Suite at the Prime Timers World Wide Convention in Las Vegas.
