We’re past the election and the endless solicitation phone calls and ad campaigns. We’re settling in. Let us all hope that our politicians can learn to work together and complete the jobs we’ve elected them to do.

We, as Gay citizens, have moved further ahead with this election. Even my own Florida city of Sarasota has passed an ordinance recognizing same sex couples. Who ever thought that could happen? The first couple to register are, no less, members of Prime Timers Sarasota and our local paper devoted a fair amount of space to the story and a nice, color photo. We all continue making progress.

As we approach 2013 we move into another convention year. We’re all excited about going to Columbus in early October. They’ve been hard at work for a number of years putting together one fine show. I tip my hat to them and their hard work and dedication.

I’ve been contacted by several guys asking when they can register. As in past conventions, Rob Howard and I pay a visit about six months in advance. We hope to do that in early February and work out registration details together. I’d say registration items should be available by late February through your chapter newsletters or on the Worldwide website.

Today is a remarkable day in the history of our organization. It is noon Eastern time and 6:00 PM in Kenya. Now is the hour our Nairobi, Kenya chapter is kicking off. I sincerely thank the group’s leader, Samwel, for the hard work and steps he has taken to make this happen. We have worked together over the past two months to get things in place. I look forward to sharing the pictures of that first meeting with all of you.

So as we move into 2013 we spread our wings even further. I’m working with men in Ashville, NC to help create a new chapter there. My prediction is that before year’s end we’ll have a presence in South Africa and New Zealand. Savannah is way past due. How about Little Rock, Memphis, Montreal, Rochester, Rehoboth Beach, Salt Lake City, San Diego, Springfield-Decatur, and all the other places on all the maps that have no chapters? Guys, I’m here and ready to work with you to make it happen.

I’ll be out of the country from November 20 until December 18, spending time with a fine group of Prime Timers from around the world on our Prime Timers Repositioning Cruise. Contact me! I’ll get right back with you when I return and together we’ll make this happen!
