Most members of PTWW know that Woody Baldwin founded Prime Timers in Boston in August, 1987. What you probably didn’t know is that the predecessor to the World Wide organization was founded in Provincetown, MA in October, 1991. At the time there were just 11 Chapters but each one of them was represented at this 1st Prime Timers Convention where Woody was elected the first President.

We are fortunate in New England to have this great and tremendously gay fishing port nearby and that is why we are opening this annual event to our brothers from all chapters and to independent members as well. Ptown, as it is known by those who have ever been there, has been serving the GLBT community from around the world for ages.

The Provincetown Inn, which has an unobstructed view of the tip of Cape Cod, will once again be our host for the weekend, from Friday, 26 October thru Sunday, 28 October 2012. The Inn is offering offseason rates for the weekend. The large field stone fireplace will be burning real wood throughout the weekend to provide that old New England at home ambiance. (Please Note: All guest rooms, function rooms and lobbies at The Inn are No Smoking.)

Don’t forget to plan your costume; you might win one of the cash prizes offered by some of the bars in town for Best Costume. If you are interested in staying additional nights you can do so at the same rates listed below. If you have not yet visited PTown, this may be your opportunity to do so. If you have been already, this is a great reason to return.

The room rates are as follows: (single or double occupancy; supplemental charge of $15.40 per person per night for a 3rd or a 4th person in a room. Rates include taxes, maid gratuity and the Continental Breakfast offered each morning.)

  • Street View $93.00/night
  • Waterview, Harborview, Breakwater $116.00/night

If you wish to drink beer, wine or alcohol, please BYOB; there is a package store in town. Local law prohibits us from offering an open bar because the Inn has a Bar which will be open to serve us as well.

A dinner is set for Saturday, 27 October at the Inn with a cocktail hour from 6:00 to 7:00 PM and dinner at 7:00 PM. Guys carpool to various other restaurants that will be open in town for other meals.

Your completed Reservation Form and payment must be mailed to us at the address indicated on the form and post marked no later than Saturday, 22 September. More information and the registration form can be found HERE, or email or call the Boston Chapter at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. or call us at 617-447-2344. There, you can also find out if a local member can put you up in their home pre or post this weekend.
